Anduril Industries, Inc. is an American defense company founded in 2017 by Palmer Luckey (sold previous VR headset company Oculus VR to Facebook), along with investors and founders connected to companies like Palantir and SpaceX. The company specializes in autonomous systems designed for military applications.

Their strategic focus involves supplying advanced technology to the U.S. Department of Defense, addressing areas such as artificial intelligence and robotics, which have often been avoided by Silicon Valley firms due to concerns over their controversial military uses.

Apple is reportedly spending ‘millions of dollars a day’ training AI

Apple is reportedly heavily investing in artificial intelligence (AI), dedicating millions of dollars daily to various AI projects. One of the key units, known as "Foundational Models," focuses on conversational AI and consists of approximately 16 members, including former Google engineers. John Giannandrea, Apple's AI head, leads this unit, with an emphasis on improving Siri.

These AI models have diverse applications, including the development of chatbots for customer interactions related to AppleCare and streamlining multistep tasks with Siri. The most advanced Language Model (LLM), internally referred to as Ajax GPT, is among these models and is reported to be trained on over 200 billion parameters, surpassing OpenAI's GPT-3.5 in terms of power. Initially designed for internal use, Ajax GPT remains tightly controlled within the company. Apple has not provided any official comment on this report.
