Nvidia is largest public company in the world

Nvidia, Wall Street’s artificial intelligence poster child, has become the most valuable company in the world, surpassing Microsoft and Apple. On Tuesday, Nvidia's market capitalization closed at $3.34 trillion, edging past Microsoft's $3.32 trillion and Apple's $3.27 trillion. Nvidia's stock, which has surged 174% this year, is the S&P 500's best performer, driven by soaring demand for its AI chips.

Nvidia completed a 10-for-1 stock split on June 7. The chipmaker last month posted yet another blockbuster quarter, noting a 262% increase in revenue and a 462% increase in profits year-over-year.

Generating audio for video using AI

DeepMind, Google’s AI research lab, is developing V2A technology to generate soundtracks for videos, aiming to enhance AI-generated media. V2A creates music, sound effects, and dialogue that sync with video content, using a diffusion model trained on sounds, dialogue transcripts, and video clips.

Unlike other AI sound-generating tools, V2A can automatically sync sounds with video without needing descriptions. However, its generated audio quality is not yet perfect, particularly for videos with artifacts or distortions. Due to potential misuse and quality concerns, DeepMind is not releasing V2A to the public immediately, instead seeking feedback from creators and conducting rigorous safety assessments.

Adobe upgrades Acrobat AI chatbot

Adobe has announced a major upgrade to the AI Assistant in Acrobat, enhancing its capabilities to analyze and query multiple documents simultaneously, including non-PDF files like Word and PowerPoint. Additionally, Acrobat now features an AI image generator powered by Adobe's Firefly model, allowing users to remove backgrounds and make alterations directly within PDF documents.

This update aims to provide a comprehensive, integrated solution for document analysis and editing, distinguishing it from other AI tools like ChatGPT and Gemini. The AI Assistant is priced at $5 per month, and Adobe assures users that their content will not be used to train AI models, maintaining strict privacy standards. The feature will be free for all users from June 18 to 28, 2024.

Hyper realistic AI video

Runway ML has announced its latest model, Gen-3 Alpha. Following previous models Gen-1 and Gen-2, Gen-3 Alpha marks a significant step in developing general world models capable of simulating a wide range of real-world interactions. This model aims to generate highly realistic 10-second video clips with precise emotional expressions and camera movements.

The model, initially available to paying subscribers, will offer faster generation times and support for various video creation modes. Runway continues to collaborate with entertainment and media organizations to create custom versions of Gen-3, emphasizing its commitment to leading the AI video creation industry.
