GPT-4 Coming Next Week

ChatGPT, along with numerous other AI text-based tools, are currently powered by OpenAI's GPT-3.5. However, many users of these tools have been eagerly anticipating the release of GPT-4, which is expected rumored to be a significant improvement and possess multi-modal capabilities, including the ability to process images and videos. More details here.

“We will introduce GPT-4 next week, there we will have multimodal models that will offer completely different possibilities – for example videos," Braun said. The CTO called LLM a "game changer" because they teach machines to understand natural language, which then understand in a statistical way what was previously only readable and understandable by humans.

Despite many people on the Internet feeling that the article was incorrect, the author of the article reaffirmed on Twitter that she had heard the information firsthand at the event.

Discord Introduces Chatbot Named Clyde

You might think that all the cool Gen Z kids are only on TikTok, but the truth is they also love hanging out on Discord to chat. So, it's no surprise that Discord has thrown its hat in the chatbot ring with their very own app, Cylde. If you're curious, you can find out more about it below and here.

However, “tons of people use AI on Discord” might not be news to you: more than 30 million people already use AI apps on Discord every month. Midjourney’s server is the biggest on Discord, with more than 13 million members bringing their imaginations to pixels. Overall, our users have created more than 1 billion unique images through AI apps on Discord. And this is just the start.

Almost 3 million Discord servers include an AI experience, ranging from generating gaming assets to groups writing novels with AI, to AI companions, AI companies and AI-based learning communities. More than 10 percent of new Discord users are joining specifically to access AI interest based communities on our platform.

Hey big companies, if you haven't already grabbed your chatbot name, you might want to hurry up because they're running out fast! Don't wait until it's too late! 🤣

Anthropic Raising Another $300M At $4.1B Valuation

Last month, Google invested $300 million to $400 million in Anthropic, the maker of ChatGPT rival Claude. This was just two weeks after Microsoft's massive $10 billion investment in OpenAI was announced. And now, Anthropic is raising another round of $300 million at a pre-investment valuation of $4.1 billion, led by Spark Capital. By the way, if you want to test out Claude, you can log in at Poe.com for access to Claude and three other language models. You can find more details about this latest investment over here.

MidJourney v5 Is Close to Being Released

My favorite text-to-image generative AI app is MidJourney. In my opinion, it's the best out of all the ones I've tried, including DALL-E, Stable Diffusion, and Lexica. MidJourney is currently hosting an image rating session to gather human feedback on their images. Check out the video below to see one user's first impressions of the images they're asking people to rate.

If you have a MidJourney account, you can click here to participate in the rating process. But if you missed out on this one, don't sweat it - they'll probably have more rating sessions in the future.

VCs Invested $385M+ Into Generative A.I. This Quarter

To put it simply, venture capitalists have invested more than $385 million into generative AI this quarter alone, and the amount invested over the past two years is in the billions! To give you an idea of who the top VC investors are and what they're investing in, check out the breakdown below. And just to be clear, having a domain name with a dot ai extension is not actually worth millions in funding (although it would be pretty cool if it were).

Cool A.I. Tools and News

The world of AI and machine learning is moving incredibly fast, and it's tough to keep up with all the cool new developments! Here are some of the most exciting AI-powered tools and news.

A Meme of the Day

Okay, so picture this: it's the early 2000s, and Steve Ballmer is the CEO Microsoft. He gets up on stage at a conference and starts shouting "Developers! Developers! Developers!" over and over again. Ballmer wanted to make it clear how important developers were to Microsoft and the tech industry as a whole. The speech was pretty legendary, and people still talk about it as one of the craziest moments in tech history.

Fast forward over 20 years, and it seems like Steve Ballmer still brings that same level of passion and enthusiasm to whatever he's working on. Case in point: he's currently overseeing the construction of a new arena (Intuit Dome) for his Los Angeles Clippers basketball team, and he's just as hyped about the urinals in the building as he was about developers back in the day. I mean, you gotta respect the guy's commitment, right?
