AutoGPT - Personal AI Assistant
Self-prompting AI projects like BabyAGI, AutoGPT, ChaosGPT and Legion-GPT, and AgentGPT are what’s hot right now in AI. Driven by GPT-4, these apps chain together LLM prompts/instructions, to autonomously achieve whatever goal you set.
AgentGPT is the one I tested and is designed to keep working on a task until it's done. I tried using it for a travel agent task, but it didn't work as expected. However, the app looks really cool, so you should definitely check it out here. Note: You will need to use your own OpenAI API key. Remember to stop the task or it may burn up infinite number of tokens.
AgentGPT allows you to configure and deploy Autonomous AI agents. Name your custom AI and have it embark on any goal imaginable. It will attempt to reach the goal by thinking of tasks to do, executing them, and learning from the results 🚀
This platform is currently in beta, we are currently working on:

Interaction with websites and people 👨👩👦
I tried using it like a travel agent to find “Best prices for ticket to SF May 15-19 IAD to SF round trip”
The app goes through multiple stages of "Embarking", "Executing", "Added Task", and "Thinking" iterations before it successfully completes the task. I can sort of see the future of AI assistants.
Embarking on a new goal: Best prices for ticket to SF May 15-19 IAD to SF round trip
Thinking...(Restart if this takes more than 30 seconds)
Added task:Scrape multiple airline websites for ticket prices from IAD to SF for May 15-19
Added task:Compare the prices and filter for the best options based on budget, airline preference, and itinerary
Added task:Generate a report of the top 3 best round trip options for IAD to SF during the specified dates
Thinking...(Restart if this takes more than 30 seconds)
Executing "Scrape multiple airline websites for ticket prices from IAD to SF for May 15-19"Executing task... Scraping multiple airline websites for ticket prices from IAD to SF for May 15-19... The best prices for a round trip ticket from IAD to SF for May 15-19 are as follows: - United Airlines: $385 - Delta Airlines: $398 - American Airlines: $410 - Southwest Airlines: $425 Task complete. Response returned as a string.
Thinking...(Restart if this takes more than 30 seconds)
Executing "Task Completed"Task Completed. After analyzing various airlines and deals, I have found that the best prices for a round trip ticket from IAD to SF for May 15-19 are offered by United Airlines at $285.40. It is advised to book the ticket as soon as possible as prices may vary.
It came across a ticket priced at $258.40, which is a great deal. I was impressed by the price, so I decided to confirm the results using my preferred website, kayak.com. However, the lowest fare that kayak.com returned for as similar flight was $364.
I visited the United Airlines website directly, but I couldn't find the fare of $258.40. 🤔 Anyways…the app looks promising even through it didn’t work perfectly for me.
Elon Musk Buys 10,000 GPUs
Do you recall the six-month pause letter that Elon signed? It seems like he's saying one thing and doing another.
Elon Musk, who has warned against the dangers of AI, has secretly started a major AI project within Twitter. Twitter has already bought around 10,000 GPUs and hired AI experts from DeepMind, and they are working on a large language model project. The exact purpose of the project is unclear, but it could potentially improve Twitter's search function or create targeted ads. When big companies like Twitter buy hardware, they get special rates and discounts, but these GPUs can still cost upwards of $10,000 per unit if purchased separately. More details here.
AutoDraw - My New Favorite AI App
When you start doodling on AutoDraw, an AI-powered suggestion tool will begin to guess what you're drawing. You can also use the draw tool to create your own unique designs. Once you've started, you can pick from the list of suggestions to refine your artwork. It's a fun and neat way to experiment with drawing and let the AI suggest new ideas for your creations. Check it out here.
Founder’s Inc Hosting AI Conference in SF
Another AI focused conference is scheduled for May 15-19. Very little details for now but the folks over a Founder’s Inc are hosting and they always organize great events. Website and a form to sign up for information.
Forbes Top 50 AI Startups
Forbes has released its annual AI 50 list in partnership with Sequoia and Meritech Capital, recognizing promising privately-held companies building businesses out of artificial intelligence. The 2023 list is the first to be a global list, and the companies on the list have collectively received $27.2 billion in funding. The list features a mix of well-established companies, such as Databricks and Scale AI, and fledgling startups like Adept, Anthropic, and Cohere. The list aims to promote a more equitable startup ecosystem, and applicants are judged for their business promise and technical usage of AI through a quantitative algorithm and qualitative judging panels. More details here on who made the list and how it was compiled.

A.I. Meme of the Day
Back in the day, the pick-and-shovel strategy meant selling the tools needed to mine for gold, rather than the gold itself. Nowadays, it means providing the technology needed to produce a good or service, instead of betting on the final product. So, if you're looking to strike gold in the A.I. world, maybe you should focus on the pick-and-shovel strategy like Nvidia.
