AI nurses transforming hospital care

AI is increasingly being integrated into healthcare, with companies like Hippocratic AI developing virtual assistants like Ana to automate routine tasks traditionally handled by nurses. AI is being used in hospitals to monitor patients, flag emergencies, and assist in care coordination, helping address staff shortages and burnout. However, nursing unions argue that reliance on AI can undermine nurses’ expertise and degrade patient care.

Concerns include false alarms, rigid automation overriding clinical judgment, and the risk of replacing human caregivers. While AI can streamline administrative tasks, such as patient outreach and medical record management, experts caution that it should enhance—not replace—human decision-making. Hospitals see AI as a solution for efficiency, but its effectiveness in caring for critically ill patients remains a subject of debate.

California-based Figure is developing a high-volume BotQ manufacturing facility dedicated to producing humanoid robots. Initially capable of producing 12,000 robots annually, the facility aims to scale up production while maintaining quality through vertical integration. Equipped with advanced systems such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), the factory will streamline operations, optimize inventory, and enhance automation.

Figure’s approach includes using its humanoid robots in the manufacturing process to reduce human involvement in repetitive tasks. The company is transitioning from its prototype Figure 02 to the production-ready Figure 03, designed for efficiency and cost-effectiveness using faster manufacturing methods like injection molding and die-casting. A hybrid workforce of robots and humans, alongside AI-driven automation, will ensure efficient mass production.

ChatGPT connectors for G-Drive and Slack

​OpenAI has initiated beta testing for ChatGPT Connectors, a feature that enables ChatGPT Team users to integrate applications like Google Drive and Slack directly into ChatGPT. This integration allows the AI to access and utilize internal documents, spreadsheets, presentations, and Slack conversations to provide more informed responses.

Powered by OpenAI's GPT-4o model, ChatGPT Connectors can refine its outputs based on a company's internal knowledge. To ensure data security, the system respects existing permissions and keeps them updated, preventing unauthorized access. Currently, the beta is available to select ChatGPT Team users, with plans to expand support to platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint and Box in the future.

Nvidia GTC 2025 - how to watch keynote

​Nvidia's GPU Technology Conference (GTC) 2025 is currently underway at the San Jose McEnery Convention Center in California, running from March 17 to 21. The event features over 1,000 sessions with 2,000 speakers and nearly 400 exhibitors, covering advancements in GPUs, accelerated computing technologies, robotics, sovereign AI, AI agents, and automotive innovations.

A significant highlight is the anticipated unveiling of the Blackwell Ultra GB300 series, Nvidia's next-generation GPU lineup, expected to offer over 50% more memory capacity and enhanced performance. The conference also dedicates a day to quantum computing, with executives from leading firms discussing pathways toward practical quantum applications. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is scheduled to deliver a keynote address on Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT, which will be livestreamed on Nvidia's official website and YouTube channel.
